Apprenticeships

The Training Group is a City & Guilds / NPTC Approved Centre for a range of Qualifications in Production Horticulture, including Diploma, Certificate and Award.

We deliver a programme that meets the needs of all individuals to achieve their aims, whilst giving consideration to employers and having a full understanding of the needs of the business.  We fit in with you!

Young people aged between 16-24 years old who have not attained a Qualification in Horticulture are entitled to funded training to enable them to achieve Levels 2 and 3 in Production Horticulture and Key Skills leading to an Apprenticeship certificate.

If you already employ or are thinking of taking on a person who is in this age range, please talk to Lorna.  SHTG's training programme provides funding towards training which may include tNVQ First Aid Traineeshe following:

Technical Workshops
First Aid Appointed Person Certificate       
Manual Handling
CIEH Basic Health & Safety Certificate
Safe Use of Pesticides

Qualifications at Levels 1, 2 & 3 are achieved by a combination of attendance at a series of training workshops and workplace experience plus work based performance and assessments.
